THE CHRISTOS MYTHOS (revisited)

This is in response to Sherry's incisive comments about the "Christ" mystique and how it fits in with our innate ability to free ourselves from external control mechanisms, reclaim our self-governing, self-navigating skills, and regain self-mastery through self-knowledge.

At 14, I attended a Presbyterian Sunday School on a fairly regular basis but, by the age of 15, had begun seriously questioning everything that was preached. At 16, I was generally agnostic, verging on atheistic - indeed, I was fond of describing God as an Atheist!

And yet, throughout my entire adolescence (or perhaps even when I was 7 or 8) I remember chatting telepathically with an entity I called "Jesus" (my mother was a Methodist, my dad a freethinker) in my own childish way. By the age of 15 or 16 I was aware that this "Jesus" character was actually my own Higher Self - a really kind and wise entity, totally accepting and extremely cool, never scolding or judging, just happy to be my best friend.

At 19, I found myself staring (completely stoned on marijuana) at my own reflection in the mirror and coming to a sudden conclusion - nay, an explosive revelation - that "Christ" was not a personal name, "Christ" describes a state of being or consciousness. And that state can also be called Universal Compassion or All-Embracing Love... what Buddhism calls the Bodhisattva, the next step beyond Buddhahood wherein the enlightened soul vows to remain in embodiment to serve those as yet unawakened. From agnosticism I crossed over into my own species of Gnosticism and began to devour all manner of esoteric knowledge. Mythology became "Mytheology" and History became "Mystery." "Jesus" became "Yeheshuah" (IHShVH) = "The Word Made Flesh" or Spirit-as-Matter (and vice versa).

Later I began to understand other implications of Christhood: that it was a mystical force denoted by a specific syllable or syllables - "Chi-Rho" or "Kri" - found in Sanskrit as "Krishna" and "Kris"; in Greek as "christos" or "crestes" - and that it was a code for a complex mythology involving Divine Rulership and the idea of Evolutionary Perfection, as in the Crest of a Wave, or the Family Crest. Some etymological research yielded the notion that the idea of Anointment - the ritual preparation of a candidate for a Heroic task or ascending a throne by massaging his or her body with fragrant unguents, known as "chrisma" in Greek (which may well be connected with the word "charisma") - was subliminally associated with the practice of greasing meat before grilling it, which may sound grisly to the modern sensibility but which has deep roots in all Sun-god myths wherein the deity is sacrificed to nourish his or her tribe - as in the Hiawatha legend or the Feast of the Eucharist.

[I just received an email from Ramsha suggesting that the word "christos" can be traced all the way back to a a Vedic term meaning "semen." Stands to reason: Christ as Divine Impregnator, Cozmik Hyperzoon, Sacred Groom, etc]

Anyway, to keep this brief, I discovered many more levels to the idea of the Christ than is to be found in conventional Christianity - and since I view Christhood as the state of being towards which all humanity is aspiring, it was only natural that I used the term Christos as a code name for my Core Self. In other words, the Christ for me is not some deity to be worshiped but a state of initiatory consciousness to be attained through direct experience. That's why I have no problem with the expression "Christ consciousness." It's something we're all going to experience sooner or later.

I'll begin typing out the chapter on the 'Three Christs' from Ashayana Deane's VOYAGERS II. If I can get it done tonight, it will be posted tomorrow

I was excited by the information revealed therein because I've long felt that there was a multidimensional mystery yet unsolved in the entire Palestine Project that initiated the advent of the Christian Era. But no one had a grip on the whole story. Ashayana's version may not be all there is, but to my mind it's a good start, and much of it feels right to my cellular memory.

With love,
Antares
~xXx~

Countdown to Galactic Alignment (repost)

The Mayan Factor: Path Beyond Technology by José Argüelles (Bear & Co.,1986) was one book that turned me on and boggled my mind for years. It was Dr Argüelles's brilliant interpretation of the Mayan calendar codes that alerted a large portion of the English-speaking world to the idea of a galactic civilization leaving durable clues for a future Earth humanity to decode and decipher, and which catalyzed what was popularly known as the Harmonic Convergence of August 16-17, 1987.

Mayan scholars have disagreed on precisely when Linear Time will end, as measured by the Mayan Sacred Calendar, or Tzolk'in. Some, like Argüelles and John Major Jenkins, have calculated that the final date shown on the Tzolk'in falls on 21 December 2012. Others, like Carl Johan Calleman, have deemed that reckoning to be inaccurate, announcing the End of Linear Time as 28 October 2011. Calleman may well be correct, but I prefer the poeticism of celebrating Galactic Alignment on the solstitial date of 21 December 2012. Not that it makes any huge difference to us.

Now what happens when the center of our Sun aligns with the Galactic Core? John Major Jenkins, in his seminal work, Maya Cosmogenesis 2012, asserts that the very heart of the Milky Way galaxy is a vast Black Hole - a Cosmic Cunt, in effect, the Mahayoni, Mystery of Mysteries, the Vast Vulva from which all Life, as we know it, originally issued. Each time Galactic Alignment occurs, a whole new reality is born.

I find that extremely exciting. Especially since Galactic Alignment is due within five years, whichever calendar date one prefers. Let's consider the implications of this phrase: A WHOLE NEW REALITY IS BORN.

Does it involve the death of the Old Reality? Or is it more of a cosmic-scale transformation, wherein the Old Paradigm is subsumed by the New Paradigm - just as maturity subsumes immaturity? Youth doesn't die in us when we become adults, it simply assimilates the new experience and, hopefully, gains wisdom.

Looking at the holographic world through the mainstream media filters of CNN and the BBC, it doesn't look like humanity is going to attain maturity anytime soon - not when we persist in squandering the bulk of our energy and resources in lethal brinkmanship and atavistic warlordism. The Military Solution, huh? Dissolution, more aptly. Win-Lose is a stupid concept, and No-Win is far worse. The only way to go is Win-Win.

Unfortunately, politics has never been a game of Win-Win, and few politicians make it to high office who sincerely believe that cooperation is a superior strategy to competition. In effect, the political solution does not exist, since it ultimately falls back on military might - brawn over brains, shock and awe the enemy into submission.

That leaves us only one option: quantum-jumping our own consciousness beyond artificial barriers and limits. In short, bypassing the corrupt priesthood and merging directly with God(dess)head!

How does one achieve this? Stay tuned and...

WATCH THIS SPACE!

Happy Solstice, Folks.

An Enlightening Chat With Robert Happé

Robert Happé was born in Amsterdam, Holland. He dedicated himself to discover the meaning of life and studied religions and philosophies in Europe. He also studied Buddhism, Vedanta and Taoism in the Far East for a period of 14 years, while living and working with people of different cultures, such as the Indian, Nepalese, Tibetan, Cambodian and Taiwanese.

On his return to Europe he felt the need to share his experiences in consciousness and did so at various universities, where he learned to work and share information with groups of people who were interested in self-development and discovering their true potential as creative beings.

Since 1987, he has been sharing information in the form of seminars in many European countries, as well as South Africa, Australia, USA, Argentina and Brazil.

He works independently and is in no way associated with any religious organizations, cult or group.

Ian Xel Lungold explains the Mayan Calendar

Ian Xel Lungold isn't exactly a household name. But he found his way into my inbox a couple of years ago and I remember exchanging a couple of emails with him. All I knew was that he had teamed up with Swedish microbiologist, Carl Johan Calleman, and that the two of them were on a mission to demonstrate that José Argüelles (Valum Votan) had erred in his calculations for the Mayan Dreamspell Calendar.

My interest in the Mayan Calendar had initially been aroused by Argüelles's mindbending Mayan Factor: Path Beyond Technology (Bear & Co., 1986), and I couldn't really wrap my brain around the mathematics of it all, so I monitored Calleman and Lungold's efforts from a distance, without getting caught up in the controversy.

Carl & Ian in Cancun
On 10 October 2005 I received an email from Carl Johan Calleman informing me that Ian Lungold was very ill with a tumour in his throat. Five weeks later, on 16 November, Ian left his body. He was only 56.

It was only recently that I found the links to Ian Xel Lungold's 3-hour lecture on Consciousness and the Mayan Calendar (thanks to Jean Hudon). After viewing them at one sitting, I felt compelled to pass this crucial data on to anyone who really wants to understand the transformations we are undergoing as we quantum jump from planetary to galactic citizenship. According to the Mayan Calendar, we have less than 5 years to sort ourselves out.

Here are both parts of Ian's well-crafted and engaging talk. Each part is about 1½ hours long - but I assure you it's time well spent...
