The father of Saiful Bukhari has apologised to PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim, claiming that his son had been used by irresponsible quarters, including an officer of the prime minister, to defame Anwar in Sodomy II.
“Anwar is innocent and a victim of this slander... as such I apologise to Anwar and his family.
“He and his family have suffered a lot as a result of this slander,” Azlan Mohd Lazim said in a statement he released at a press conference in Kuala Lumpur today.
“I deeply regret all the slander hurled against Anwar, which involved my son Saiful Bukhari,” Azlan said.
Although he was always seen accompanying his son during the trial, Azlan explained that he did that simply as a father who was giving moral support to his son.
“Actually I don't believe the allegations against Anwar.”
Azlan said he decided to make the expose today as he has unveiled the truth after spending a long time to collect information obtained during the trial, as well as those sent to him by the public.
The government has neither met him, nor asked for his opinion about the sodomy case, he claimed.
“Everything was so carefully planned and executed (by the official),” Azlan alleged.
“As a Malay and a Muslim, I started to realise the evil of this plan. I don't want to continue to conspire with this malicious slander. I want the people who love this country to know their malicious intention.
“If this malicious intention continues, not only the Malays and Muslims would be destroyed, but the nation would be destroyed as well. I do not want to see this happen.
“I decided to be with Anwar, Pakatan Rakyat, and the Malaysians who thirst for prosperity, peace and truth, and are against this evil act.”
Azlan urged the people to “rise and fight against this cruelty, and work hard to uphold the truth”.
“Let us pray to Allah to win the struggle of Anwar and Pakatan to take over the government in the 13th general election,” he concluded.

Anwar was acquitted by the Kuala Lumpur High Court on Jan 9 last year on charges of sodomising Saiful, who was his political aide, on June 26, 2008, in a condominium in Kuala Lumpur.
The Attorney-General’s Chambers has appealed against the decision and the Court of Appeal will hear the case on July 22.
In the statement, Azlan, 60, said all media statements by him and Saiful had been prepared by an officer with the prime minister's office and a lawyer.
Malaysiakini is withholding the identities of these two people pending their response.
“They are the masterminds behind all the sodomy slander against Anwar that involved my son.”
Azlan said he learnt about the sodomy allegation only from the “government-owned media” as Saiful never told him about it.
“I have never been contacted by any quarters to obtain my statement as his father, from the beginning till the end of the trial,” he said.

I maintained from Day 1 that it was a Najib-led conspiracy, and have now been vindicated. This admission by Saiful's father is dynamite.
ReplyDeleteThe entire UMNO/BN Govt and PM Najib (re Altantuya)must resign today or be sacked by the King.
remember too that both Saiful and Najib swore on the Koran, and the majority in M'sia does not believe them one bit!
Dpp
we are all of 1 Race, the Human Race
In Altantuya's case Najib's staff was involved neck deep. So too now in Saiful's case, it seems.
ReplyDelete1+1 is 2 and cannot be 0.
Just recall Najib and Saiful swearing on Holy Quran in mosque. But Anwar did not. He knows he is innocent and must have been aghast seeing two crooks staging the sandiwara and their pondan press and TV playing it up to the hilt to bury Anwar.
God is great. The fortitude and inner strength shown by Anwar, his wife and his children throughout this painful saga is remarkable.
How dirty UMNO and UMNO politics can be. Every party-less individual should make it as his/her personal mission to persuade family members and circle of friends to vote for and give Anwar and his PR a massive victory.
The truth will out. Obviously he's doing the right thing but if only he'd spoken up before now it would have saved a lot of heartache and pain for many people, not least Anwar and his family.
ReplyDeleteMohd Azlan Lazim is no saint. He has, truth be told, long been a Mr Fixit running errands for Umno bigwigs and their crony capitalist backers. I'm pretty sure Azlan Lazim expected a huge windfall from his son's willingness to lodge a police report against Anwar. After 4 years the whole thing fizzled out when Anwar was acquitted on 9 January 2012. The Attorney-General's idiotic attempt to appeal the acquittal cannot be taken seriously - it's just that sleazebag Gani Patail's way of postponing the inevitable - like a cornered criminal hurling plastic chairs at his pursuers. The Attorney-General knows full well that when Pakatan Rakyat takes over the reins of power, he will be among the first to be paraded before the public as an utterly despicable creature with no redeeming qualities that anyone can think of who fully deserves to spend the rest of his life in prison.
ReplyDeleteAzlan Lazim's "change of heart" comes at a time when the Umno insiders can no longer deny that their days of glory are numbered. He's cutting his losses by "joining the other side" - or appearing to do som perhaps at the instigation of the evilest human on earth, the nefarious Dr M, who appears hell-bent on forcing Najib to step down and let his deputy lead Umno to the polls. That won't help Umno one bit, of course, but desperate men clutch at straws.
