Especially for the Younger Generation...
Dr Bruce Lipton interviewed by Lilou Mace. Recorded under the rain and sun in Honolulu, Hawaii at the Quantum Medicine Congress.
Bruce H. Lipton, PhD, is an internationally recognized leader in bridging science and spirit. Stem cell biologist, bestselling author of The Biology of Belief and recipient of the 2009 Goi Peace Award, he has been a guest speaker on hundreds of TV and radio shows, as well as keynote presenter for national and international conferences.
In 1982, Dr. Lipton began examining the principles of quantum physics and how they might be integrated into his understanding of the cell's information processing systems. He produced breakthrough studies on the cell membrane, which revealed that this outer layer of the cell was an organic homologue of a computer chip, the cell's equivalent of a brain. His research at Stanford University's School of Medicine, between 1987 and 1992, revealed that the environment, operating though the membrane, controlled the behavior and physiology of the cell, turning genes on and off. His discoveries, which ran counter to the established scientific view that life is controlled by the genes, presaged one of today's most important fields of study, the science of epigenetics. Two major scientific publications derived from these studies defined the molecular pathways connecting the mind and body. Many subsequent papers by other researchers have since validated his concepts and ideas.
Dr. Lipton's novel scientific approach transformed his personal life as well. His deepened understanding of cell biology highlighted the mechanisms by which the mind controls bodily functions, and implied the existence of an immortal spirit. He applied this science to his personal biology, and discovered that his physical well-being improved, and the quality and character of his daily life was greatly enhanced.

Reposting from Malaysiakini in support of the Penans...

Sarawak Parti Keadilan Rakyat today urged Suhakam to probe human rights abuses against the Penan community in Murum committed by the state headed by the nation's reportedly richest man.
"The latest exposes carried in the alternative media and in some mainstream press in the past few days bring home to us the heights of heartlessness and hypocrisy this government has reached.
"The revelations tell of the unimaginable suffering of the Penans in Murum who have been treated in the most callous and contemptible manner by the dam-building bullies and the uncaring government headed by the man reputed to be the richest man in Malaysia," said Baru Bian,(right) chairman of Sarawak PKR.
Bian, who is also the state assemblyman for Ba'Kelalan, was commenting on the blockade mounted by the Penans to prevent workers from the Sarawak Energy Berhad and other companies from entering the Murum dam construction site, an action provoked by the state's failure to honour its promises.
Blockade enters 10th day
Bian said that they had been left with no choice but to put up the blockade to attract the authorities attention and civil society.
He added that the Penan of Murum need the support of every Malaysian citizen who cares about justice and humanity.
The details revealed in the leaked ‘Resettlement Action Plan' tell the shocking truth about the lives of the Penan and their total neglect by the government that "plans to wipe out the land which has been their home and provided their livelihood for generations,",he said.
"Assistance from the government is important but it has not been regular and in some cases, zero assistance given; they receive an average income of only RM154 per family per month, well below the official rural poverty line index of RM830 per month.
"They begged for teachers for years but none was sent; less than 10% have access to education," he said.
Bian also said that women and babies still die in childbirth for lack of medical support and no doctors, among other woes.
They had depended on the jungle for traditional medicine but logging had destroyed the herbs and since they have no identity cards they are without official status which means no access to poverty eradication programmes.
The PKR leader said: "Added to the Penan's litany of woes is the insult of James Masing (Land Development Minister) who claims that they are hostile because they lack understanding, and that they were not against the project per se but were unhappy about some of the things implemented without being properly informed.
"What is there to understand about the shameful way they have been treated?
"How would anyone of us like it if our house is destroyed, our bank accounts taken from us and our source of support obliterated from the face of the earth?
"Can we bear to watch our families suffer the indignities of poverty and the humiliation of hunger and hopelessness?
"Please do not be so blasé about the problems faced by the Penans by waving them off as a problem of communications, and pointing the finger at NGOs for instigating them.
"If anything, the NGOs should be commended for helping them to articulate their troubles as the government has preferred not to extend educational facilities to them to help uplift their lives or to help them in any other way," he said.
He said that as for Liwan Lagang, Assistant Minister of Culture and Heritage sent in to ‘explain' matters, the people would like to see what he hopes to achieve at this stage of development.
"I hope YB Liwan would be a real mediator between his people and the government of the day and be very neutral in this issue.
"The truth must be known and exposed to ensure a permanent solution," he said.
Bian added that the total and blatant disregard of Penan rights throw up again the hypocrisy of the government and their all too familiar form over substance hallmark.
He then called upon Malaysians to support the Penan cause by responding generously to the appeal for funds as they lack in every basic necessity and are enduring hardship at the blockade site.
"It is obvious that nobody in this current government has the will or the desire or the moral courage to do what is right," he said.
He pointed out that the people are now recognizing that this government has far overstepped the boundaries of decency and "descended into the den of dam-mad depravity".
"A change of government is the only answer to the insanity that has beset this country," he added.

All The Notes ~ a film on Cecil Taylor by Chris Felver
"Suffice it to say that Cecil Taylor's music is not for everyone." ~ Scott Yanow, jazz commentator
Cecil Percival Taylor (born March 25, 1929) is an American pianist and poet. Classically trained, Taylor is generally acknowledged as one of the pioneers of free jazz. His music is characterized by an extremely energetic, physical approach, producing complex improvised sounds, frequently involving tone clusters and intricate polyrhythms.
His piano technique has been likened to percussion, for example described as "eighty-eight tuned drums" (referring to the number of keys on a standard piano). He has also been compared to "Art Tatum with contemporary-classical leanings."
Taylor began playing piano at age six and studied at the New York College of Music and New England Conservatory. After first steps in R&B and swing-styled small groups in the early 1950s, he formed his own band with soprano saxophonist Steve Lacy in 1956.
Taylor's first recording, Jazz Advance, featured Lacy and was released in 1956. It is described by Cook and Morton in the Penguin Guide to Jazz: "While there are still many nods to conventional post-bop form in this set, it already points to the freedoms which the pianist would later immerse himself in." Taylor's Quartet featuring Lacy also appeared at the 1957 Newport Jazz Festival. He collaborated with saxophonist John Coltrane in 1958 (Stereo Drive, currently available as Coltrane Time).
Throughout the 1950s and 1960s, Taylor's music grew more complex and moved away from existing jazz styles. Gigs were often hard to come by, and club owners found Taylor's approach to performance (long pieces) unhelpful in conducting business. Landmark recordings, like Unit Structures (1966), appeared. With 'the Unit', musicians developed often volcanic new forms of conversational interplay.
By 1961, Taylor was working regularly with alto saxophonist Jimmy Lyons, one of his most important and consistent collaborators. Taylor, Lyons and drummer Sunny Murray (and later Andrew Cyrille) formed the core personnel of The Unit, Taylor's primary group effort until Lyons's premature death in 1986. Lyons's playing, strongly influenced by jazz icon Charlie Parker, retained a strong blues sensibility and helped keep Taylor's increasingly avant garde music tethered to the jazz tradition.

A story right out of Star Wars ~ Mahathir turns Malaysia into Malicia
14 years since the police brutalized Anwar: But no investigation, Dr M still UNPUNISHED
By N. Surendran
I refer to the infamous assault upon Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim while under police custody, which took place 14 years ago today on 20 September 1998.
The assault was merciless, life-threatening and disgraced our Nation in the estimation of the world. On the night of 20 September 1998, Anwar was illegally arrested by police special forces acting under the orders of the UMNO-BN government led by then PM Mahathir Mohammad.
The arrest and assault was part of UMNO-BN's conspiracy to fabricate sodomy and corruption charges against Anwar Ibrahim, who had been unlawfully removed as Deputy Prime Minister on 2 September 1998.
Dr M still unpunished
14 years later, the circumstances of the assault are still horrifying and remain a national trauma. While helplessly handcuffed and blindfolded, Anwar was punched and slapped repeatedly causing him to fall upon a concrete slab. He was semi-conscious and bleeding from the nose and mouth. Instead of giving him medical assistance, top police officers made him sign the ISA detention order shortly after the assault.
The entire top leadership of the UMNO-BN police force was present at the scene of the assault, but none of them lodged a police report or took any kind action on the assault. Worse, Anwar was denied any kind of medical assistance until 4 days after the assault! And while in this condition, Anwar was even forced to attend interrogations.
There is no doubt that PM Mahathir and the top Umno-BN leadership were fully aware of the assault and the conditions in which Anwar was being held. Despite this, on 1 October 1998, then Umno-BN PM Mahathir lied to the public by claiming that the injuries were self-inflicted.
Contempt for the law
The Royal Commission of Inquiry in its report on 6 April 1999 stated that the assault upon Anwar 'seared the very soul of Malaysia'. Yet the real culprits behind the assault and subsequent cover-up have never accepted responsibilty or been brought to justice; the real culprits are the UMNO-BN leadership and former PM Mahathir.
It is UMNO-BN's utter disregard for the rule of law and manipulation of the police leadership against Anwar that led to the assault. 55 years of UMNO-BN rule had so damaged police independence and professionalism that top cops allowed this assault to happen and were party to the subsequent cover-up.
And still seeking another mandate from the people
It is thus a matter of grave concern that the lawless UMNO-BN regime is seeking a fresh mandate from the people of this country. The fabrication of the Sodomy II charges against Anwar in 2008 shows that UMNO-BN has not changed or reformed.
The assault upon our former Deputy Prime Minister and countless high-handed actions since then, proves that no Malaysian is really safe under the arbitrary and amoral rule of UMNO-BN. The assault on Anwar by the country's highest police officer starkly exemplifies the collapse of independent institutions and just governance in Malaysia under UMNO-BN.

| Bruno Manser (25 August 1954 ~ ???) |
Ladies and Gentlemen, Dear friends,
We would like to inform you that the Bruno Manser Fund is about to release an explosive report on the Malaysian Taib family, one of South East Asia's most notorious kleptocratic clans.
![]() |
| Sarawak has been in Taib Mahmud's greedy clutches for more than 30 years |
As an exclusive, the report will give estimates on the net worth of 20 Taib family members and associates and will systematically expose their business ties to the timber, plantation, construction and media sector in Malaysia and other countries such as Australia, Canada, the US, the United Kingdom and Hong Kong. The report follows up on our earlier research on the Taib family, published in December 2011.
| The unembarrassable Dompok: politician with a rhino hide |
The report will be released to the general public on Thursday, 20 September 2012, 3 p.m. GMT. Copies will be sent to all major international financial services providers as well as to cabinet ministers and government agencies from OECD and ASEAN countries. The Bruno Manser Fund calls on the international community to take decisive action against the Taibs, in particular to freeze their illicit assets and to prosecute them for corruption, money-laundering and related crimes.
Interested journalists may obtain a copy of the embargoed report beforehand, by sending us an email.

Legacy of rainforest "Robin Hood" lives on
11 March 2005
![]() |
| Bruno Manser: officially dead but not forgotten |
But Manser’s efforts to save the rainforest have not been forgotten and continue to influence attitudes towards tropical wood.
"It’s five years since Bruno vanished without a trace, so it’s not just a legal step, but also a symbolic one," said Lukas Straumann, director of the Bruno Manser Fund, set up by the environmentalist to spearhead his campaign.
"Friends and family have had to say farewell to him in stages."
Manser became a household name in Switzerland in the 1990s, when he staged a spectacular 60-day hunger strike outside parliament in Bern to highlight the plight of Malaysia’s Penan tribesmen.
The Penan, who still live a nomadic lifestyle in the forests of Sarawak on the island of Borneo, are threatened by illegal logging practices that encroach on - and destroy - their habitat.
Manser became interested in the Penan in the 1980s and often clashed with the Malaysian authorities and timber companies as he defended tribal land rights.
Hero
"Bruno Manser is still a hero to the Penan because he made their struggle known to the world," Straumann told swissinfo. "He also made a stand when fighting deforestation and related human rights violations was not very popular."
The environmentalist spent six years living with the tribesmen. He was banned from Sarawak after launching his campaign against rainforest logging.
He disappeared in May 2000, when he is believed to have entered Sarawak secretly. Investigations by the Malaysian police and Swiss activists failed to find any trace of Manser.
Many of his friends believe he was killed because of his campaign, which embarrassed the Malaysian government and earned him plenty of enemies along the way.
But despite vanishing, Straumann says that Manser has had a powerful influence on attitudes towards tropical wood. "He is the person who made it headline news in Switzerland," he added.

BRUNO MANSER: TRIBUTE TO AN ECO-WARRIOR
Anil Netto reports on Anwar's 14 September visit to Skudai...
Something is happening in Johor
A crowd of 8000 people attended the largest Pakatan dinner in Johor on Friday, 14 September, sending shivers down the ranks of the BN.
The 800-table dinner was held at Sutera Mall near the upmarket Taman Sutera Utama residential area in Skudai, though many of those who turned up seemed to be from outside the neighbourhood.
A thunderous roar from the multi-ethnic crowd greeted Anwar when he arrived with his entourage.
Two observers, a veteran journalist and a former journalist, were struck my the range of people present at the dinner, with all ethnic groups significantly represented. “They were completely unfazed by the heavy presence of police. And they hung on to Anwar’s every word until midnight,” said the veteran journalist.
Entire families were there from grandmothers to children. When Anwar spoke, some of those at the back surged forward giving the impression that some of the tables at the back were half empty.
One of the main organisers was Chua Jui Meng, and the observers were impressed with his ability to draw in the people.
Mat Sabu was a big hit as was Sallahudin. Anwar himself spoke about high-level corruption and the privatization that has benefited cronies.
How does this large turnout translate to seats?

An Iranian nuclear engineer may hold the key to the planet's future...
Mehran Tavakoli Keshe is an Iranian nuclear engineer who has made some truly astounding breakthroughs in plasma drive systems that will completely revolutionize the technological landscape of our planet - once the massive resistance to Mr Keshe's utopian vision has been overcome.
Some have accused him of being a fraud, others question his scientific credentials - since he has taken pains to distance himself from scientific academicians who serve the existing power structure.
It is obvious, in any case, that the oil, gas and nuclear power industries view the work of the Keshe Foundation with fear and loathing, because widespread acceptance and use of his cutting-edge plasma reactor tech would make fossil fuels utterly obsolete - and inevitably liberate humankind from corporate bondage.
I am in no position to technically assess or review M.T. Keshe's pioneering work in plasma reactor tech. I can only go with my instincts; and my gut feeling is that the Keshe Foundation is very much part of the lineage of visionary scientists like Nikola Tesla whose work was sadly subsumed and neutralized by gross commercial interests with extremely myopic and petty concerns, mainly maximizing on quick profits for themselves and their shareholders, without any serious consideration for the fragile ecosystem or the ultimate well-being of all species.
Don't forget to sign the online petition urging the United Nations to override private interests for the public good.
Visit the Keshe Foundation website for more info.

Everyone was offended. But nobody died. Take it easy, folks!
No one murdered because of this image
Following the publication of the image above, in which the most cherished figures from multiple religious faiths were depicted engaging in a lascivious sex act of considerable depravity, no one was murdered, beaten, or had their lives threatened, sources reported Thursday. The image of the Hebrew prophet Moses high-fiving Jesus the Christ as both are having their erect penises vigorously masturbated by Ganesha, all while the Hindu deity anally penetrates Buddha with his fist, reportedly went online at 6:45 p.m. EDT, after which not a single bomb threat was made against the organization responsible, nor did the person who created the cartoon go home fearing for his life in any way.
Though some members of the Jewish, Christian, Hindu, and Buddhist faiths were reportedly offended by the image, sources confirmed that upon seeing it, they simply shook their heads, rolled their eyes, and continued on with their day.
[Source: The Onion]
Last night I watched some footage on AlJazeera of frenzied mobs going on the rampage in... I don't even remember where... Egypt? Tunisia? Yemen? Sudan? Hard to believe that all this violent outrage was triggered by a 13-minute trailer on YouTube of quite possibly the worst movie ever made by a completely dubious character named Bacile... or is it Becile, as in "I'm Becile"? I doubt more than a handful have seen the complete movie - or if it even exists.
The whole thing smacks of yet another Black Ops project designed to catalyze unrest and upheaval in the Middle East and thereby provide an excuse for further military intervention. It's also possible that there exists a fanatical cabal of well-heeled fundamentalists who are eager to precipitate some sort of Armageddon and Final Apocalypse scenario just so they can get to Heaven sooner - or at least reap vast profits from their investments in defense industries.
That's right, these idiots want to create Hell on Earth... rather than Heaven! Don't worry, folks... they've already been quarantined. So relax and enjoy your weekend.
