Altantuya's Murder: The Orang Asli Factor (reprise)

It should have been the perfect cover-up. Troublesome Mongolian woman is "arrested" by plainclothes policemen outside the gates of Abdul Razak Baginda's residence where she had been causing embarrassment to the political analyst, defence consultant, speechwriter and personal friend of Najib Razak, Malaysia's defence minister and deputy PM. The Mongolian woman believes the Malaysian police will take her to the station, interrogate and intimidate her, and then forcibly deport her.

Nobody knows exactly what happened to Altantuya Shaariibuu between the time she was seen entering the Unit Tindakan Khas (Special Action Squad) officer's car and the time her body was blasted to tiny fragments with C4 explosives. Was she taken to Bukit Aman? Or driven to a secret location and toyed with before getting shot twice in the head (according to some reports)? Did her police abductors treat her with courtesy - or was she humiliated, tortured and raped before they killed her? Will we ever find out? The two UTK officers who have been charged with the hideous crime - Corporal Sirul Azhar Umar and Chief Inspector Azilah Hadri - were personal bodyguards to defence minister Najib Razak. So under whose specific orders were they acting?

In any case, the only reason Altantuya's body was blown up in the jungle was so that it would never be found - at least not in one piece. Somebody extremely powerful had instructed an immigration officer to delete all computer records of Altantuya Shaariibuu's arrivals and departures from Malaysia. When her cousin lodged a police report that Altantuya had disappeared, a massive search would have been initiated. After which a government spokesman would have told the media that the immigration department had no record of the Mongolian woman arriving in Malaysia. There would be insinuations that Altantuya Shaariibuu did not, in fact, exist - and that her "cousin" was perhaps mentally unsound, possibly paranoiac, and had concocted the story of Altantuya's vanishing act in order to attract attention.

So why did the gruesome story make the front pages on local dailies nearly three weeks after the fictitious Mongolian woman was murdered? Who would have known about the jungle explosion in the middle of the night in the middle of literally nowhere?

I was told by a friend with connections to the legal fraternity that it was an Orang Asli family that reported the blast between October 19 and 20. Altantuya's killers must have killed her and then taken her body to a spot well-known to Chief Inspector Azilah Hadri (who had boasted to Abdul Razak Baginda that he had terminated at least six people "in the line of duty"). Nobody was supposed to hear the explosion that would remove all evidence of Altantuya Shaariibuu's earthly existence. Apparently, unbeknownst to the killers, a few Orang Asli were encamped in the vicinity and were startled by the blast. They investigated the next morning and, realizing that a crime had been committed, lodged a report at the nearest Balai Polis. Thus far I have found no way to confirm this detail. After Googling the case for hours, not one single reference to the Orang Asli factor. If anybody can confirm this, will you please contact me or leave a comment below this post?

I would like to know for certain that it was indeed the Orang Asli who blew the lid on this macabre and malevolent affair. It would be the ultimate irony, if this was true, that the "highest and mightiest" in the land would ultimately be brought down by the humblest of the humble.

  1. Antares,

If true, it simply demonstrates the karmic circle of life. The true sons and daughters of nature have brought balance to the evil abomination of UMNO.

  2. I'm still awaiting corroboration from other sources on this. As far as I recall the sensational news of Altantuya's gruesome murder exploded in the media seemingly out of the blue. Not many even knew of Razak Baginda, although allegations of outrageous commissions over the French submarine deal did surface in the blogs (I believe it was Jeff Ooi who broke the story). It makes sense to me that there would have been no investigation of the bombing site unless somebody lodged a report. Considering the remoteness of the forest location, only the Orang Asli would be in the habit of roaming the area.

  4. Antares, small world! I've got one of your books that you signed for me that Tinkerbell got for me when I missed you at the office years and years and years ago.
So ironic that now i've got a blog i meet you in the blogosphere!

Don't think there will be any evidence of this police report dude. If immigration files can go missing what about some report from a small balai?

  5. Even though i knew Razak during childhood days in school here My Bahasa blog
the contextual cover-up behind this crime is so devilish that it is clearly Allah's will that justice be shown on earth itself.

It is shuddering to imagine people who knew of her allow her to be in the hands of professional terminators.

  6. From all my sources, within the Police{Deep Throat}, the reason AL..,was taken to such a remote area was because there could be no detection.Further, there were/are other bodies there too! Been going on for some time!Only problem was that no one realized that the OA had roamed into the area, quietly some time before! But more importantly that they , the OA would dare make a report! I am informed that the OA who made a report has "disappeared" & so have that family/group!
    Thus U see friends there was no intention of revealing anything - immigration enteries - gone - So no such lady existed or came into this country, until an OA innocently & correctly made a report! Even then it was no big deal until a few days later. That is why, it took some time to be led to the scene of the crime! The Police Station , where the FIR{First Information Report} was made by The OA,has "lost the book{where reports are lodged!!!}

  7. Appreciate your filling us in on this crucial detail, Jeyapalan. Do you know exactly which Balai Polis the FIR was filed by the Orang Asli? What do you suppose happened to the OA? I can't believe the police would snuff them - perhaps offer them a handsome "reward" to stay away from the area in future and keep their mouths shut.

  8. Antares!
    Check out the nearest Balai!
    The OA are simple people!
Where they are, I do not know, but the people at the Balai know!
Anyway, I know more ,but for now let the pressure be on for I do not want C4 up my ...where the sun does not shine. Infact strangely I got a call from Shah Alam IPK 2 day at lunch on a report of abuse of a prisoner, made by me some six months ago prisoner while in police custody had disappeared !

  9. I think there are so many things / evidence missing in Altantuya's case.

People who hold the power and money , seem to get away with crime , quick and easy.
Altantuya's case as for me seems very mysterious, and incomplete.

The investigation is left hanging somewhere.

There's so many questions left unanswered. I do think, the Malaysian government or someone with highly professional skills on crime matters should re-open this case, and thorough investigation should be done.
In the first place where did the C4 come from? How did the police officers get it?
It is not fair for Razak to get away , while the police officers are still stuck, to defend themselves. This isn't a fair trial and judgement.

Najib's name is mentioned in this case with a photo as an envidence.
Is this all for fun? His involvement in Altantuya's case still remains a mystery.
The public seems very disturbed by Altantuya's murder, and still there are lots of doubts and questions , and I amsure ther will be many who'd agree with me.

Power , status and wealth wins over truth and justice.

  10. Pointing my finger to AG.

He has an attitude of playing politics and pleasing his political masters then being steadfast to his work.

He has got Patel in his blood so ampu mengampu and pusing memusing is only expected.

Musa Safri's statement to the police showed there was no najib involvement and it was a miscommunication.

Sirul and Azilah are UTK trained to kill upon instruction without asking. One will not expect any motive simply because they themselves do not know why?

One can suspect that Gani Patail had wanted to please the boss then Pak Lah who was under pressure to resign. Most likelihood Khairy had got to him and proposed the idea of fixing Najib.

Gani created controversy on Najib by not putting Musa Safri on the stand, botch the case against razak to get him acquited early, etc.

Heard Gani wants to appeal but it is not for anything else but for play acting. He is now helping the revival of Pak Lah's faction.
