I JUST VOTED BN...

OUT! I solemnly swear I have NEVER once voted for the arrogance, mediocrity and stupidity that BN represents. And I sincerely hope that every Malaysian who voted today shares my feelings and voted BR!

I voted for an end to a corrupt, inefficient, politically biased and kurang ajar police force.

I voted for an end to crooked judges, capitalist cronies, and sleazy lawyers.

I voted for an end to complacent, smug and useless Elections Commission chairmen like Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman whose every word and deed reveals him to be an Umno supporter.

I voted for an end to slimeball attorney-generals like Abdul Gani Patail and disreputable Inspectors-General of Police like Musa Hassan (both promoted for their respective roles in convicting and jailing Anwar Ibrahim on Dr M's instructions).

I voted for an end to high-level ministerial kickbacks and scandalous misbehavior that have tarnished the name of my country and brought shame upon us all.

I voted for an end to disgraceful hooliganism at Umno General Assemblies with stupid keris-waving displays by dangerous airheads like Hishamuddin Hussein and Khairy Jamaluddin. I voted Barisan Rakyat today because I love Malaysia too much to see it destroyed by a bunch of megalomanic, myopic, and moronic descendants of pirates.

  2. Actually, voting is just a minor part of political life, GnomeFan. The conscious act of reclaiming your sovereignty and power is an ongoing process. First, as you approach adulthood, you reclaim your power from your parents; then you reclaim your power from the economic and political systems (i.e., you liberate yourself from always being at the mercy of capitalist employers and the governments they create to enact laws that serve their own vested interests); and, ultimately, you reclaim your sovereignty and power from the fictional entity humans call "God."

  5. Yo, Iolanda! Makkal shakti indeed ;-)
I salute Manoharan for his inspiring win while passing the days in Kamunting... till we find a way to free him and jail Gani Patail!

  6. The tsunami that swept BN away rode on the wave of the digital revolution. I have no doubt that the blogging community played a huge role in the opposition win.

Also, two things Dr M did right:
one, he kept the internet free
two, he appointed Abdullah as PM - haha

  7. Dr M did THREE things right, David. Don't forget he also sired Marina Mahathir who is genuinely a likeable person with brains, beauty and talent - and her heart is certainly in the right place. She's my friend (I hope) and sometimes that forces me to look at her father in a more compassionate light (and the only times I succeed are whenever I flip my lid and temporarily turn tyrannical; then I realize Dr M is just ME on a permanent bad hair day!) I'm sorry, Marina, but I keep thinking of you as "the hangman's beautiful daughter."

  8. Generally, Malaysians have short memory. Especially when it comes down to election time. They think "As long as I can make money for myself and have a good life, I don't have to worry about the government" OR "Nothing I do can make a difference anyway, so I will just stay comfortably in my own aircon home safe and sound."

My sincere gratitude for the compilation of all the reasons why we should exercise our right to vote.

  9. Thanks, Implosion (you related to Trinity? ;-) What you say about Malaysians applies to most folks trapped in The Matrix - Aussies, Americans, Brits, probably even Eskimos. I suppose it's pointless to rail against those who haven't awoken from their "cultural trance." Those of us who happen to be awake can only
make a bit of noise and hope a few others will snap to attention before the house burns down. In the last few years I've seen a surge of bright young people passionately involved in everyday politics, some of whom have dedicated lots of time to mobilizing and organizing their communities and encouraging others to outgrow their fears. In the end, the only way anybody can control us is through fear. Drop by as often as you like (you have a nice smell :-)

  10. Hear, hear!

Speaking of blogs, I have been wondering if there are any - ANY at all - popular blogs by BN MPs? Why is it mostly opposition members who are blogging? You'd think they'd be using this powerful tool as well. Har? Har?

  11. Haven't you heard? The BN MPs were offered some sound advice last year.
"Go blog," they were instructed but they immediately took Umnobrage at being called "Goblok" and refused to attend Parliament for a month. Now they've lost their jobs. Apa mau buat? They can join PERTOM (Persatuan Pengusaha Tomyam Malaysia) and do battle with PPCM (Perikatan Penjual Cheecheongfun Malaysia).

  12. Or they can continue controlling and sulking publicly in the mainstream media that eventually nobody will read anymore. Soon to turn into newsletters for BN members only ...LOL
