The root of all evil isn't MONEY, contrary to popular belief. It's JEALOUSY. How so? Consider the greatest of all possible evils - MONOTHEISM - as expressed in the utterly psychotic statement: "Thou shalt have no other gods before me, for I am a jealous god." You may substitute "goddess" for "god" and the results are equally abysmal.
Just ask yourself this: if you were indeed the One and Only Deity in Existence, would you be constantly looking over your shoulder in anticipation of rivals or threats to your Absolute Status? In Barbara Hand Clow's nebulous tome, The Pleiadian Agenda, I was struck by a powerful quote attributed to the Prophet Isaiah: "Monotheism breeds fanatical anthropocentrism, which eventually destroys Earth." How absolutely and tragically true.

Such a jealous, spiteful, insecure, and vengeful deity can only engender generations of jealous, spiteful, insecure, and vengeful humans. The Old Testament records the first instance of murder in the story of Cain and Abel. The archetypal case of sibling rivalry wherein a deity plays favorites with two brothers over their ritual offerings and arouses a jealousy so intense it leads to fratricide. Fast forward to Abraham and his sister-wife Sara, whose greed and jealousy result in the unjust expulsion of Hagar, the servant who bore Abe his first-born son, Ishmael. Behold, the remote descendants of Ishmael (generically known as Arabs) to this day continue to be cruelly treated by the remote descendants of Sara's freak-birth progeny, Isaac (generically known as Jews)!

My wife of almost 12 years, Anoora, is a real cutie... except when possessed by the demon, Jealousy. This demon she inherited from her mother, whose emotional insecurity was pathological to the degree that it drove two previous husbands to drink, distraction and, eventually, divorce.

I can happily swear eternal allegiance, affection, and friendship to anybody who has won my heart... but to insist on exclusivity seems to me the epitome of insanity. Imagine vowing to eat at only one restaurant your entire life. That's an insult to FOOD!
The crux of the problem is that monotheistic religions have programmed their followers into believing there is only ONE way to be married, and only ONE interpretation of wedded bliss - and that's MONOGAMY!
My own parents were married for more than 60 years... but Dad probably had that many lovers on the side (and Mum quite a few too, though far more discreetly)... and most folks do indulge in a fair amount of "illicit" (read "unlicenced") sex, only problem being they have to be hypocritical and sneaky about their behavior - instead of being good-humored, honest, and open-hearted about their own testosteronal or pheromonal propensities. Of all the women I've known, perhaps only two or three were virgins before they met me - but I've certainly loved and cherished the others no less, and enjoyed them all the more for their sexual experience and emotional maturity.

As I embark on my 57th solar orbit, I feel sufficiently seasoned to declare myself a pantheistic pansexual. That's right, folks: everything and everybody is actually quite edible if your perception is pristinely unclouded.

BRUSSELS, Belgium - Authorities have opened a murder investigation into the death of a skydiver, saying they believe someone tampered with her parachute in an apparent fight over a lover.
Els Van Doren, 37, fell 13,000 feet to her death last November after her parachute and emergency chute failed to open.
A fellow female skydiver was detained for questioning last week and is the "prime suspect" in the investigation, prosecutor Michel Zegers said Wednesday. No charges have been filed.
Investigators believe Van Doren and the suspect, who belonged to the same parachute club, also dated the same man, a Dutch national identified as "Marcel."
News reports say the suspect killed Van Doren in a jealous rage after learning Van Doren had an affair with her boyfriend.
"I believe we can call this a crime of passion," Zegers said.
CRIME OF PASSION, HUH? LET'S CALL IT BY A MORE TECHNICALLY PRECISE TERM... "EGO-DRIVEN CRIME"! THE "SKIN-ENCAPSULATED EGO" (ALAN WATT'S BRILLIANT DESCRIPTION) IS WHAT FILTERS OUT ALL DATA THAT MIGHT CAUSE US TO FEEL VERY MUCH PART OF THE WHOLE WEB OF LIFE. KNOWING THAT THE ILLUSION OF SEPARATION IS ONLY THAT, WOULD WE MURDER ANOTHER ASPECT OF OURSELVES? I REST MY CASE!
Let's not forget that Ishmael's children are treating Isaac's children in a similarly (if not more) cruel way. I don't see Jews sending their children to bomb civilian Arabs in a pizza parlour.

ReplyDeleteAnd that's certainly not only because the Jews have a systematic military. Arab states with far greater military capabilities ave attacked Israel several times and yet do we see the underdog Jews sending off kids to bomb themselves up in a bus station in Cairo or in a cafe in Amman or a mall in Damascus, or a night club in Riyadh, oh sorry, are there night clubs in Riyadh? Before independence, it is true that the Irgun carried out bomb attacks, but it was against military targets and headquarters of the occupier and never purposefully against a civilian target like cafes. That said, no one should carry out terrorist attacks against another person or living creature or the nature. Ask the Arab Israelis, would they enjoy the same rights accorded to them by Israel had they been ruled over by one of the Arab governments? Even Hassan Nasrallah recently had to admit that he doesn't believe any Arab state would come close to Israel's democratic practices.
Frankly, people, I'm bored to tears with attempting to play peacemaker between these contentious siblings, descendants of Abraham - that mind-controlled, hen-pecked human agent of Yahweh, arguably the worst deity in the entire story of Creation. I suggest you guys start eating pork and hang on to your foreskins - and STOP this yiddiotic squabbling over IDEOLOGY!!! Or go ahead, kill each other... but do so without biochemical or radioactive weapons, please. Humanity will breathe a huge sigh of relief when all the Jews, Christians, and Muslims are gone! :-)
ReplyDeleteI think we were made to be anything BUT monogamous. It doesn't make sense if the rule is 'survival of the fittest' for the continuance of the human race.
ReplyDeleteHaving said that, I have not felt the need to be anything BUT monogamous for the past 28 years - and am happy for it :)
Before we were married, I used to think I was a jealous person. But I realise now that I am not. I enjoy and take pleasure in finding that people see my husband as handsome, or intelligent, or fun, or whatever. That could be because I am happy to love him, and know I am loved in return.
But I know that should the day come when he says he has found someone else, I will let him go. For I will not want someone who does not want me. Huge ego? Maybe. But I think that is what love is really about.
